Radiology

[Mai 2012]

Prof. Bachmann IVG. Bachmann, PhD, Director

In the Kerckhoff Clinic we have the whole range of diagnostic equipment like ultra sound scan, x-ray, scintigraphy, computer tomography (CT) magnet resonance tomography (MRI) and from July, 2008 also a PET/CT with TruFlight technology. All these methods enable us to make the best possible diagnosis in accordance with most modern standards. The new dual source tomography (DSCT) shortens not only the time of examination but also provides a much improved quality of picture which in turn facilitates an accurate diagnosis and at the same time exposes the patient to a much lower level of radiation. This means that the doctor is in a position to check the coronaries right down to the smallest vessels. Furthermore, the Radiology Department supports the Rheumatology Department in diagnosing rheumatoid illnesses and also the heart and thoracic surgery departments in diagnosing different heart and lung illnesses.
