The Kerckhoff Clinic is one of the most effective and high performance centers in Germany for heart, lung and rheumatology diseases. About 70% of the 38,000 people we treat every year are in-patients, about 30 % out-patients. The number of people seeking our help is increasing from year to year.
In the four largest units - cardiology, heart surgery, thoracic surgery and rheumatology the number of beds exceeds 247. In addition, to that, there are the independent departments of anaesthesiology, radiology and haemostatic/transfusion medicine.
Our range of services includes all the modern techniques of diagnosis and therapy for coronary, lung and rheumatic diseases. Every year we perform more than 4,500 catheter investigations and treatments, as well as more than 2,500 open-heart surgery operations. In terms of heart surgery, we take care of more patients every year than the two university clinics in the state of Hesse together. It is this comprehensive experience that makes the Kerckhoff Clinic particularly suitable for the treatment of complicated heart conditions and it can also guarantee top quality in this field. The rheumatology unit takes care of about 1,200 in-patients and about 7,000 out-patients per year. You can see the details of each unit as follows:
