Interdisciplinary cooperation
The specialists at the Kerckhoff Clinic attach great importance to cooperation between the disciplines of diabetes and blood clotting physiology. We realise that optimal diagnosis and therapy for many patients can only be attained if different units work together. Recent studies have shown, for example, that a third of all patients who have had a heart attack also suffer from diabetes; diabetic patients are also just as likely to sustain a heart attack as those patients who have already had one heart attack. This is why we cooperate with the diabetes clinic of the Pitzer Group which has been located on the 4th floor of the new Kerckhoff Clinic main building since June, 2005. Another cooperation partner is the William Harvey Clinic, member of the Helios group, which is located since July, 2007 in the older part of the Kerckhoff Clinic.
Your general practitioner is our partner
Patients may also consult the Kerckhoff Clinic specialists as outpatients. This means that our experts work together with your own general practitioner. He/she is included in the decision-making processes and together they work out the best possible treatment plan based on thorough and educated diagnoses. Thus, the patient does not need to spend unnecessary time in hospital.
